Admiral Collingwood –Nelson’s right hand man- stayed in this house when he was Vice-Admiral of the Royal Navy.

Well-known archaeologist Mrs. Margaret Murray,  and Mr. Waldemar Fenn, famous German artist, were both guests of this house too, in the 30's and 40's.
