Menorca

Menorca has been granted an international seal of recognition on being declared a Biosphere Reserve under auspices of UNESCO, which, in this manner has rewarded and encouraged the island's zeal for the conservation of such a privileged environment.

The island is divided into two regions. The first, the north, is the most rugged. Here we find beaches of reddish sand and landscapes of great beauty. The second region situated in the south, has a much gentler relief, with a coastline of cliffs, gullies covered in pine trees and coves of golden sand. The highest elevation of the island is Monte Toro, at 357 metres.

Menorcan cuisine is firmly rooted in its history and very much influenced by it. As well as the excellent sea food be sure to try the local pastries, spicy sausages, puddings, the famous Mahon cheese and minorcan Gin.

Its easy to see why discerning holidaymakers are attracted to the unspoilt island of Menorca.
